A robust and well-structured application process which allowed Blackburn College to test itself paid off as they walked away with the Skills Provider of the Year in 2025.
And a sense of pride was the main feeling when their name was read out in front of their peers at Blackpool Tower Ballroom.
“It was a recognition of our hard work, high standards and shared commitment,” says Matt Robinson, executive director at the east Lancashire college, “The judging reinforced the importance of being relentlessly focused on impact and continuous improvement. It validated our direction but also challenged us to be even more intentional about employer engagement and measuring long-term learner outcomes.
“The BIBAs are not just about winning; they are about reflection, challenge and growth. The process itself drives improvement, which aligns perfectly with our values.”
