Judging

The BIBAs prides itself on a rigorous judging process which ensures its winners are the best of the best in Lancashire.

That’s why the BIBAs is ‘the one they all want to win’.

Our judges always include some of the best business minds in Lancashire and, in some cases, the UK, tailored to the award they are judging. Our judging process is then made up of three steps to pick our winners:

1. Application

The BIBAs 2019 opens for applications from Tuesday, 29th January 2019 and are open until Friday, 29th March, when the judging process gets swiftly underway.

All applications are eligibility checked to ensure they meet all the entry criteria of the BIBAs before they are benchmarked against a criteria created by our research from the world’s leading business awards.

This will ensure those who progress to the next stage of judging are the leading lights of Lancashire’s business community.

2. Interview stage

All shortlisted applicants to the BIBAs will meet the judging panels in order to select the finalists. This face to face interview provides entrants with their first opportunity to demonstrate what sets their business apart from the competition.

The first round of interviews for the BIBAs 2019 get underway on May 13th and runs until May 24th. All interviews will be held at the North and Western Lancashire Chamber of Commerce’s Fylde Coast offices in Blackpool (FY4 2RN).

3. The BIBAs On Tour judging

In a unique second round of judging, we send our judges out ‘on tour’ to get under the skin of all our finalists to find out what makes them tick. This initiative gives our finalists the chance to show the judges their culture of excellence, including meeting their workforce and visiting facilities.

After this, our judges will know their finalists inside out and be well placed to pick their BIBAs winner for each of our categories. ‘BIBAs On Tour’ begins on Monday 17th June and ends on Friday 12th July.
