With the application deadline for the BIBAs 2019 now closed, we take a look at our 20 prize categories and give you an insight in to what our judges are looking for. Today, we look at the Family of the Year category, sponsored by Age Concern Central Lancashire….
Open to businesses where majority control remains within one family, continuing through generations that can demonstrate and evidence sound financial growth, diversification and modernization, a clear vision for the long-term future of the business, including planned succession.
The judging panel will be looking for evidence of:
- Business growth
- A commitment to the local community including local job creation
- A vision for the next three to five years
- Proven success during the past 12 months
- Management with the ability to drive the business forward
- Succession planning
- Training & development
The first round of judging for this category got underway on Monday, May 13 at the Blackpool offices of BIBAs organisers, the North & Western Lancashire Chamber of Commerce.
