The resilience of Lancashire’s business community will be recognised by a new award being handed out by one of the county’s leading awards.
The Be Inspired Business Awards, The BIBAs, has unveiled the Most Resilient Business of the Year category as one of its 18 prize categories which are now open for applications.
The prize has been created to recognise firms who have overcome the challenges which have been thrown at Lancashire businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Sue Smith, Director of the Centre for SME Development at the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan), said the past ten months had shown high levels of innovation and endurance within the county’s companies.
“Alongside the difficulties we have endured as a business community during the pandemic, we have seen a great deal of support within the business community and show of resilience which have inspired us all.
“It is these stories of how businesses have overcome the adversity they have faced that I hope we will see from entrants and the reason we are proud to sponsor the Most Resilient Business of the Year category.
“At UCLan we have seen first hand what Lancashire businesses are capable of and I would urge them to celebrate their successes over the past year.”
The BIBAs has categories for businesses of all sectors and all sizes in Lancashire including Manufacturer of the Year, Small Business of the Year and Most Innovative Business of the Year.
The lifetime achievement award, Lancastrian of the Year, will also be handed out to an individual who has achieved a lot during their career.
The categories are open for applications until April 9, with interviews scheduled to take place by teleconference later this year.
Judges have been selected from across the county to consider applications for each category.
