Winning an award helped how we communicate – a winner’s story

Scooping a BIBA can do different things for different businesses – good PR, even a new approach for communication.

Winning Start Up Business of the Year helped Preston-based Ecoeyes “see” their messaging more clearly, as director Steven Morrison explains:

“It actually helped us simplify our message. I think we initially over complicated our message…

“After sitting and thinking about it we realised we are a premium quality, affordable, eco-friendly eyewear provider that makes spectacles whilst you wait. We don’t need to complicate that.”

And on winning the award on the night – sounds like it came as a bit of a surprise!

“Shock. Disbelieve. Proud,” adds Steven, “Relief that someone outside of Ecoeyes had recognised that we might be onto something, and the hard graft was paying off.”
