Lancashire’s resilient global traders breaking down barriers for BIBAs glory

Taking your trade into international markets takes perseverance, patience and a certain amount of luck on behalf of businesses.

Which is why the BIBAs Global Business of the Year is one of the fiercely contested of the categories each year.

Resilience has always been a word used to describe businesses facing barriers but in the export game it’s a word used very wisely.

Lancashire’s global-facing businesses are refusing to be held back by post-Brexit complexity or geo-political upheaval – and this year’s finalists are once again shining a spotlight on their remarkable resilience.

The category, sponsored by Team Leyland International, has attracted a highly competitive field of applicants, showcasing the strength and agility of Lancashire firms trading internationally across manufacturing, tech, agriculture, retail and more.

From supply chain challenges to shifting international regulations, the exporting landscape remains volatile – but Lancashire’s businesses are adapting, thriving, and continuing to put the county on the map.

“Exporting in today’s climate is not for the faint-hearted – it takes grit, innovation and an unwavering focus on customer service,” said Mick Mayor, Managing Director of Team Leyland International.

“The finalists in this year’s category have shown they have what it takes to take their products overseas and overcome the barriers they face in an unstable global market.

“We’re proud to sponsor this category and recognise the businesses that are flying the flag for Lancashire in markets around the world.”

The BIBAs continues to celebrate the entrepreneurs and exporters who keep Lancashire’s economy moving forward – proving that, even in uncertain times, the county has what it takes to compete and win on a global stage
