Lancashire’s SMEs will take centre stage next week on a night when the county raises a glass to the best in business.
With the businesses facing economic uncertainty, sponsors of the small and medium business of the year have hailed the county’s business community.
Businesses have had to deal with ongoing choppy conditions and new demands from a government which has growth as its main directive – and all sectors have been forced to adapt.
On 19th September in Blackpool, the BIBAs will celebrate those who have weathered the storm and rose to the challenge.
With 20 categories up for grabs, this year’s BIBAs have seen hundreds of businesses do battle for the iconic trophies.
Two of the most competitive have been small and medium business of the year.
Lancashire’s business community is largely made up of small and medium-sized enterprises across all its sectors. This year’s applications reflect the diversity within the county’s economy, and the awards are a celebration of their achievements.
Dawn Cheetham, managing director of CKS Catering, sponsors of Small Business of the Year, said: “SMEs are the backbone of the Lancashire economy and are the ones which are the most diverse.
“This year’s finalists have overcome adversity, demonstrated a clear objective for growth and excelled in becoming the best in their sector and we are proud to support them on a night where we celebrate the very best small businesses in Lancashire.”
Preparations for the awards are almost complete for the biggest business night of the year and Danny Houghton, partner at MHA, who sponsor Medium Business of the Year say the finalists should be proud of what they have achieved.
He added: “Businesses have had to cope with a lot over the past year and we are proud of all the finalists for this year’s BIBAs. They have gone above and beyond for their staff and customers and have reached new levels.
“We wish all the finalists well on BIBAs night when it is truly a time to shine!”
