Undecided about whether it’s worth the effort of an application to the BIBAs? Why not take some inspiration from some of last year’s winners.

We asked our 2022 winners a series of questions about their experience of the BIBAs. We’ve been blown away by the positivity of the responses, here’s a selection:

Q. When you heard your name announced at the BIBAs 2022 awards night, how did you feel?

“We were absolutely chuffed to bits! While it’s not all about winning, there’s no denying that getting the gong makes a big difference. There was a spring in our step after a win that big, that’s for sure” ~ Steve Daniels, Th!ink Creative

“Hearing our name at the BIBAs 2022 gave us a sense of pride, especially as we knew the competition in the category was so fierce. To be the best, we know we need to compete against the best, and hearing our name alongside such a range of exceptional small businesses felt like a pivotal moment in the evolution of Suresite” ~ Steve Hoban, Suresite Group

“Hahaha! There’s actual video evidence of my shock! Stunned, simply stunned! Classically, it was the night I said ‘let’s not make a big deal of this, we’re not winning!’. I got something out of my wardrobe, didn’t get my hair done, had an hour to get ready, kept it to just my marketing manager and I attending, and hoped for the best! Obviously, we then won!” ~ Rebecca Jane, RJ8

Q. How will you use your success at the BIBAs 2022 to promote your business, motivate your workforce, grow your business?

“Winning a BIBAs carries such authority and credibility. It endorses our sustainability work, gives us something to really promote and I’ve applied to be a judge this year as I loved the process so much!” ~ Celia Gaze, The Wellbeing Farm

“Our team were delighted by the news, saying it made them feel even more proud of their work and recognised for their skills and the effort they put in. We focus a great deal on being a family business in our marketing activity and this adds an external validation of this from a significant awards ceremony” ~ Sophie Page, Plumbs

“We were very lucky to be able to bring the staff along to this event, and having the whole team be part of such an amazing win has really boosted everything we do here. The motivation within the team now is certainly an all-time high and has really focused everybody on how important it is to work as a team” ~ Derry Green, The Secret Garden Glamping.

You’ve got to be in it to win it if you want to experience ‘the BIBAs buzz’ for yourself, but time’s running out: get your application in before 5pm on Friday 31st March to avoid the disappointment of not taking part this year.
