Late September usually sees day-trippers visit the resort rather than the week-long and weekend family holidays which Blackpool is renowned for.

With more than 1,000 guests attending the Tower Ballroom on the Friday night, a technical support crew and not to mention a top guest presenter and artists, the local day and night-time economy swells before and after the awards come to town.

Local hotels, guest houses and eateries all benefit to the tune of thousands of extra pounds being pumped back into Blackpool and then there’s all the world-famous attractions and the Illuminations which are switched on a few weeks before the BIBAs juggernaut rolls into town.

And after the party, a place to rest…
