Judges undertake special training session

A special training session will prepare judges at one of Lancashire’s leading business awards to face its applicants later this year.

The Be Inspired Business Awards, the BIBAs, is hosting a training session for its judging panels on Thursday, April 27.

This will provide the judges with insight in to the awards they will be picking the winners for, as well as getting advice from experienced judges around how to ask the right questions to make their decisions.

Babs Murphy, chief executive of the awards’ organisers, the North & Western Lancashire Chamber of Commerce, said: “We know the amount of effort our applicants put in to applying for the BIBAs, so we have to make sure our judges are fully prepared before they meet the applicants.

“Our training session with the judges will be followed by a further session to prepare those individuals chairing the panel, who have a special role in ensuring the judges get what they need.

“The BIBAs is known as ‘the one they all want to win’ for a reason and we leave no stone unturned in ensuring we keep up this level of quality.”
