Finalists line up for the big night

A Lancashire supermarket chain is up against two textiles firms and a major commercial & refrigeration specialist for the top prize at one of the county’s leading business awards.

Booths, which has 15 branches across Lancashire, is among the finalists for the Business of the Year category at the Be Inspired Business Awards, The BIBAs. It is one of eight finalists along with Lancaster based Standfast & Barracks, Preston Based Plumbs and Blackburn based the Forest Group.

The awards will hand out prizes at its ceremony at the Blackpool Tower on Friday, September 16. Babs Murphy, Chief Executive of the awards’ organisers, the North & Western Lancashire Chamber of Commerce, said : “The BIBAs has become a hallmark of quality of Lancashire businesses, a sign of a business which excels and given everything we have been through in the past two years and this year is no exception.

Former winners Suresite Group are up against Lancaster based Mitigate Cyber and Blackburn based Elektec in Small Business of the Year category. In the awards’ other categories, Blackpools Catering Elite and the Mina Group are up against Lythams Sandgrown Spirits and Preston based AGT Computer Services in the micro business of the year category.

In the Apprentice of the Year category, the finalists include NanoSun, Service Care Solutions, BI3 and Trident Utilities.

The winners will be unveiled at a ceremony hosted in the world-famous Tower Ballroom In September alongside The BIBAs’ lifetime achievement award, Lancastrian of the Year.
