The Apprentice Team of the Year category is one of the most competitive in the BIBAs calendar.
Open to all businesses which take on apprentices, it’s about training the next generation and, in the case of last year’s winners, HEIR Salon and Education, ensuring the sector’s legacy.
“As a business, we’re focused not just on now, but what’s next,” says Natasha Langthorne, owner of HEIR, “Apprenticeships are in decline, and we felt a responsibility to show what’s still possible when you commit fully to developing young talent.
“We don’t “have” apprentices. We invest in them, we plan around them, and we build systems that put their growth at the centre. Seeing that written down made us proud of the culture we’ve built.
“Employing, training, and developing young talent has gone beyond a job for us. It’s part of our mission, our brand, and our core beliefs. To be recognised for that was incredibly special.”
