The BIBAs, has been shortlisted in the Best Judging Panel and Process for an Awards at the Awards Awards run by The Global Conference Network.
It is up against a host of national awards including the Green Flag Awards run by Keep Britain Tidy and the Health and Safety Awards, the annual prize-giving from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents.
The BIBAs is now open for applications now with 18 prizes up for grabs including for Most Inspiring Young Person, Construction Business of the Year and the Best Use of IT.
Babs Murphy, chief executive of the BIBAs organisers, the North and Western Lancashire Chamber of Commerce, said: “The BIBAs is proud of our judging process which we have always felt is amongst the best in the country, and now this has been proven by our nomination.
“We are in some prestigious company among the Awards Awards finalists, not just in our category, the British Academy of Film and Television Arts, the BAFTAS, are in another category.
“When you look at the finalists and their applications, you realise how special our awards really are.”
The BIBAs has two unique rounds of judging to select its winners from some of Lancashire’s leading businesses and business leaders.
Having eligibility-checked its applicants, it invites firms for a face-to-face interview with members of its judging panels from which it will select finalists for its categories.
The judges then go ‘on tour’ spending a day travelling around the business premises of all its finalists to get under the skin of what makes them tick.
The deadline for the BIBAs 2017 closes at the end of March with the first round of judging getting underway on May 15.
