Laila’s Fine Foods was the winner of the Manufacturer of the Year categories at the BIBAs 2013.
Walking on to the stage at the Blackpool Tower at the BIBAs 2013 was a proud moment for the Remtulla family, the driving force behind the success of Laila’s Fine Foods.
It was in the resort that Laila Remtulla, who gave her name to the food manufacturing business, took an enthusiasm for cooking to a new level.
That led her from an initial listing in Lancashire-headquartered supermarket, Booths, to grow a business which has an £18m turnover, a 43,000 sq ft factory in Bispham, Blackpool and employs 250 people.
Laila’s Fine Foods now enjoys customers including supermarket giants Asda, Morrison’s, Lidl and the Spar own range.
It was this success which led to the company being selected as the winner of the Manufacturer of the Year category at the BIBAs in 2013.
But, hungry for further success in the awards dubbed ‘the one they all want to win’, Laila’s Fine Foods made the shortlists for three categories at the 2014 awards, including the prestigious Business of the Year award.
