The BIBAs has let the businesses which are heading through know what to expect from the first round of judging for this year’s awards.
A maximum of 12 businesses will be invited for interviews for each of the awards’ 20 prize categories.
The judges will be independent and impartial, and each applicant will be awarded a score out of a possible 100 points.
The judges’ score will be based on the performance at interview and an applicant’s previous track record in the BIBAs (whether successful or not) will have no relevance on the outcome of the decision.
All interview sessions will last for a maximum of 30 minutes – no visual presentations are permitted.
Questions to the applicant will be relevant and appropriate and only relate to the judging criteria contained in the judging score sheet.
The judging panel will only sit on the day in question and failure to attend an interview will automatically result in the applicant being eliminated from that category – interviews cannot be re-arranged under any circumstances.
Your score will then be added to your application score and at this stage the top scoring eight businesses will go onto the next stage of the competition, ‘The BIBAs on Tour’.
