The sift is underway

Following the closure of the BIBAs 2019 application deadline, the entries received from all corners of Lancashire will now be eligibility checked.

The checks will be carried out by the North & Western Lancashire Chamber of Commerce, which runs the annual business awards, to ensure all applications met the entry criteria of the awards.

Chamber chief executive Babs Murphy explained: “To ensure a level playing field, we have a set of entry criteria which every application has to meet and it is these criteria against which we will be reviewing every entry.

“The most regular problem we come across is businesses from outside of the county of Lancashire entering, for example, we will very often have applications from towns such as Wigan and Bolton which historically were in Lancashire but now sit in Greater Manchester.”
