The winner of the lifetime achievement prize at one of Lancashire’s leading business awards has been selected.
The Lancastrian of the Year prize, the top honour presented by the Be Inspired Business Awards, the BIBAs, has been picked by a panel made up of its former winners.
Babs Murphy, Chief Executive of awards’ organisers, the North and Western Lancashire Chamber of Commerce, said all the prize’s former winners had an input in picking this year’s winner.
She said: “Normally we try to get the Lancastrians together to select a winner but their hectic schedules mean it is nearly impossible to get them all together in one place at one time.
“Therefore, this year we conducted the shortlisting and selection process through a wide-ranging discussion via email.
“In keeping with BIBAs tradition, the winner will be announced at our ceremony at The Blackpool Tower on Friday, September 11, but I am sure everyone will agree they are a worthy winner.”
Eric Wright, the founder of Bamber Bridge-based construction firm, The Eric Wright Group, was the winner of the lifetime achievement prize in 2014.
