Lancashire’s biggest business awards has again pledged to back local suppliers.
The Be Inspired Business Awards, the BIBAs, is sourcing almost everything from the cars to deliver guests to the prize-giving ceremony to the table decorations for the big night from local suppliers.
It is also hoping to get 60 per cent of the 900-strong audience at the awards at the Blackpool Tower in September staying in local hotels.
Babs Murphy, chief executive of awards’ organisers, the North and Western Lancashire Chamber of Commerce, said the awards were committed to supporting the business community it represents.
She said: “The BIBAs are all about celebrating the diversity and achievements of our local businesses in Lancashire and there can be no better endorsement than buying products and services from these businesses.
“The Chamber knows that what you can buy here in Lancashire is among the very best anywhere in the country and we are committed to supporting them. Where ever we can we’ll be sourcing local suppliers – yet there are a few things that can’t be bought in Lancashire, for instance the entertainment – but we do our best.
“We hope that whatever we can do to buy local will be enhanced by the 900-strong audience at this year’s sell-out ceremony who will support hotels and other businesses in Blackpool.”
