One of Lancashire’s leading business awards is open for applications to companies from across the county.
The Be Inspired Business Awards, The BIBAs, opens for applications today with 20 categories open to applications from firms of all sectors and sizes and the individuals behind them.
The awards’ organisers have urged anyone seeking to apply to sign up for a free workshop next month where they can pick up some tips on how to be a winner.
The BIBAs Boot Camp will take place at the Marriott Hotel, Preston on Thursday, February 6.
Chamber chief executive Babs Murphy said: “Each year we hear from our BIBAs winners about how they have reaped the rewards of being a winner, whether that is boosting staff morale, using the win to promote themselves or doing more business as a direct result of being a BIBA winner.
“It is only just four months since we crowned our 2019 winners and we are already hearing these stories from them, which should give every Lancashire business an incentive to apply.
“If there is anyone out there thinking about whether they should apply, I would urge them to sign up for our Boot Camp where they can hear from businesses who have been there and done it.”
The awards’ application window is open until Friday, March 27 with all shortlisted applicants getting a face-to-face interview with judges during May followed by a second round of judging in June.
The second round sees the BIBAs send its judging panels on tour to visit every finalist before deciding upon the winner for each category.
Last September, Ann Dean, a former High Sherriff of Lancashire who is involved in a wide range of roles in business, charity and educational organisations, won the awards’ lifetime achievement prize, Lancastrian of the Year.
Preston-based Roccia collected the Business of the Year and Garstang-based Hoofcount, which sells chemical baths for cattle, was the only business of walk away with more than one award picking up the Growth Business of the Year and Micro-Business of the Year.
