Lancashire businesses will once again be appointed suppliers to one of the county’s top awards, organisers have confirmed.
The Be Inspired Business Awards, the BIBAs, said it will be appointing businesses to deliver everything from wireless internet to flowers and flooring to catering for its ceremony in September.
Lancaster-based The Networking People (TNP) provides a wireless internet connection at The Blackpool Tower Ballroom where it will host its annual ceremony, while Burnley firm The Mad Florists supplies flowers handed to winners on the night.
Today (May 1), the BIBAs will inform its applicants which of them have made the first round of judging which gets underway on May 14.
TNP spokesman Paul Astle said: “To see the winners of the BIBAs sharing their moments in the spotlight across social media due to the wireless network we have set up in the Tower, is a very rewarding and amazing moment for us.
“We have worked with the awards for a number of years now and each year we meet more great Lancashire businesses whether they are judges, applicants, finalists or sponsors, so it is a great way to network and show them what we can do.”
For the past three years, the BIBAs has spent more than £140,000 with suppliers from across the county which organisers expect to match this year
David Price, of The Mad Florists, said: “The BIBAs are known as ‘the one they all want to win’ in Lancashire for a reason and the kudos of being a supplier to such a prestigious awards is great exposure for us.
“We have had a great time as a supplier to the awards for the past two years and we are really looking forward to sharing the amazing moments with the finalists in September.”
The BIBAs’ first round of judging gets underway later this month with interviews at the Fylde Coast offices of the North & Western Lancashire Chamber of Commerce.
In 2017, the winners of the Business of the Year category, Burnley-based refrigerated vehicle specialist, CoolKit, also collected the Manufacturer of the Year award, while Preston-based Sunshine Events also winning two categories, Employer of the Year and Excellence in Corporate Social Responsibility.
Fox Brothers, which is headquartered in Poulton-le-Fylde, was the winner of the Construction Business of the Year, with Blackburn non-profit making body, Community and Business Partners, winning the Third Sector of the Year category.
