As Lancashire’s longest-standing business awards, the BIBAs has been delivering benefits to firms and individuals across the county since 2008, and every week we will hear from a former winner about how it has helped them.
Here Deborah Terras, a director of UR Potential, our Third Sector Business of the Year at the BIBAs 2016, tells us their story……..
Having won another award in 2014 which recognised us as a successful small business, we felt we were ready to take the next step and the BIBAs was an obvious choice.
We knew other Third Sector businesses which had entered the awards previously and told us how beneficial the BIBAs were.
The application process gave us an opportunity to look at our business plan and goals and develop a two-year growth plan; it also gave us the chance to take a step back and look at what we had achieved in five years and plan for the future.
Through the interview stage and the Judges’ On Tour second round of judging, we had the opportunity to give the judges a true representation of what URPotential does.
We are starting out in our BIBAs Academy journey and so far it has been very beneficial, so we look forward to progressing this through 2017.
But, our business has already had recognition across the country and we have secured contracts and funding thanks in part to our success at the BIBAs.
