One of Lancashire’s leading business awards is holding a unique training session for its judges on Tuesday of this week.
The Be Inspired Business Awards, the BIBAs, will host the session for the judges it has signed up to pick the winners for its 18 awards which it will hand out at its ceremony in September.
Babs Murphy, chief executive of the North & Western Lancashire Chamber of Commerce, said the training would ensure the panels were prepared for the first round of interviews next month.
She said: “A BIBA is not an easy thing to win. You do not get an award by simply entering, you have to put a lot of effort and we recognise that our applicants do that every year.
“For this reason, we recognise our responsibility to ensure our judges put in exactly the same level of effort – if not more.”
Those selected as finalists following the first round of interviews, which start on May 16, will then host visits from the judges to their business premises as part of the BIBAs unique ‘Judges on Tour’ second round of interviews from June 20 before the winners are decided.
The awards will be handed out at a star-studded ceremony held at the iconic Blackpool Tower Ballroom on Friday, September 16.
