The organisers of one of Lancashire’s leading business awards have revealed how they had to turn down applications from outside the county.
Babs Murphy, chief executive of the North & Western Lancashire Chamber of Commerce, said the Be Inspired Business Awards received applications from across the North West, Yorkshire and even London.
She said: “The BIBAs are known as ‘the one they all want to win’ amongst Lancashire’s business community and it appears that is the case outside the county as well.
“Unfortunately, our rules are quite clear; we can only accept applications which fall within the boundaries of the county of Lancashire.”
The awards closed for applications to its 18 prize categories last Friday and successful applicants will face the first round of judging next month.
