A group of Lancashire business leaders were inspired to support one of the county’s leading awards having met some of its greenest firms.
Consultants CarbonBit and Seekly together with East Lancashire Chamber of Commerce will sponsor the Green Business of the Year at this year’s Be Inspired Business Awards, The BIBAs, having carried out the judging for the category.
They met with a number of firms as part of the awards’ judging rounds which saw them meet candidates for a face-to-face interview and visit their business as part of a unique second round of judging, The BIBAs On Tour.
The BIBAs will hand out its awards in front of a sold-out audience at a prize-giving ceremony held at The Blackpool Tower on Friday, September 13.
Chair of the judges, Lee Petts of Seekly, said: “The BIBAs gave those of us on the judging panel the opportunity to get under the skin of what made these businesses tick and it really brought home the amazing work which is taking place in Lancashire to support the environment.
“We all know the importance of this kind of work, not just to our economy but to the world we live in, and we wanted to show our support by sponsoring the category to recognise the achievements of these firms.”
“Now we cannot wait to celebrate with all the finalists for The BIBAs’ categories at the Tower in September, it is sure to be another amazing evening,” added Philip Hargreaves, CEO of CarbonBit.
The awards confirmed last week that it had sold out tickets for the ceremony and organisers have urged those finalists yet to take up the two tickets reserved for them to get in touch.
Babs Murphy, Chief Executive of BIBAs’ organisers, the North & Western Lancashire Chamber of Commerce, said: “Each of our finalists is guaranteed two tickets for the BIBAs ceremony night and we know there
are several firms out there which have yet to take theirs up.
“I know the night itself is more than a month away but something of the scale of The BIBAs takes a lot of planning and we really need to hear from anyone who is wishing to attend as soon as possible.”
