The BIBAs prides itself on a rigorous judging process which ensures its winners are the very best of the best that Lancashire has to offer – that’s why we’re ‘the one they all want to win’.

Our judges always include some of the best business minds in Lancashire and, in some cases, the UK, tailored to the award they are judging.

They are all put through their paces at a compulsory training masterclass, led by experts from Lancaster University Management School (LUMS), ensuring our judges are as prepared to meet our finalists, as our finalists are to meet them.

Our judging process is then made up of three steps to pick our winners

1. Application

The BIBAs 2016 opens for applications on Tuesday, January 26th and are open until Friday, April 8th, when the judging process gets underway.

All applications are eligibility checked to ensure they meet all the entry criteria of the BIBAs before they are bench-marked against a criteria created by our research in to the world’s leading business awards.

This will ensure those who progress to the next stage of judging are the leading lights of Lancashire’s business communities.

You can apply here.

2. Interview stage

All short-listed applicants to the BIBAs will meet the judging panels in order to select the finalists. This face-to-face interview provides entrants with their first opportunity to demonstrate what sets their business apart from the competition.  The first round of interviews for the BIBAs 2016 get underway on Monday, May 16th, and runs until Friday, May 27th. All interviews will be held at the North and Western Lancashire Chamber of Commerce’s Fylde Coast offices in Blackpool (FY4 2RN).

By entering you’ll be testing your business against the best. Being shortlisted will be an achievement in itself, becoming  a finalist will give your brand a heavyweight seal of approval.

3. The BIBAs On Tour judging

In a unique second round of judging, we send out judges out ‘on tour’ to get under the skin of all our finalists to find out what makes them tick. This initiative gives our finalists the chance to show the judges their culture of excellence, including meeting their workforce and visiting facilities.

After this, our judges will know their finalists inside out and be best-placed to pick their BIBAs winner for each of our 18 categories. It’s no wonder we are the ‘the one they all want to win’.

Whilst becoming an official finalist is a significant achievement,  winning a BIBA will launch you onto the global stage.
