The Community Foundation for Lancashire is for donors, for communities and for Lancashire. We facilitate and administer charitable giving and philanthropy on behalf of donors who are individuals, companies, families, trusts and foundations. We then distribute charitable funds and donations on their behalf to individuals in need, charities, community organisations, resident groups and social businesses ensuring funds are used for maximum local impact and communities are prosperous and thriving and in doing so donors see, experience and can measure the difference they are making.
We are delighted to be supported in our work by the UK Community Foundations to ensure the highest standards of community philanthropy advice, donor care, grant making and governance. These standards are further evidenced by our Community Foundation Quality Accreditation Standard Mark (2010 – 2013), which demonstrates best practice and standards (as endorsed by the Charity Commission).
Across Lancashire the case for supporting local communities has never been stronger, as identified in Lancashire’s Vital Signs Report, 2013 www.lancsvitalsigns.co.uk. Anyone can become a philanthropist through the Community Foundation for Lancashire to tackle social issues and support community aspirations across a spectrum of themes from children, young people, families and older people to health & well-being, isolation and employment opportunities.
