Eight companies are in the running to be named the best in Lancashire by one of the county’s top business awards.

Bamber Bridge-based Conlon Construction and Chemical Innovations, Cleanall Services of Leyland, Preston’s Gold Medal Travel Group and Scorpion Automotive of Chorley are all among the nominees for the prestigious Business of the Year category at this year’s Be Inspired Business Awards.

They are joined on the shortlist by Fylde-based accountants Danbro and Warden Construction as well as Springhill Care which is based Accrington.

Organisers of the awards, known as The BIBAs, have unveiled the shortlists for 18 prizes which will be handed out at a star-studded awards ceremony at Blackpool Tower in September.

Peter Kiely, of property investment firm Harewood Associates, which is sponsoring the ceremony’s reception, said the calibre of finalists highlighted the wealth of talent in Lancashire’s business community.

He said: “The quality of businesses and individuals which make up the shortlists for the BIBAs categories speaks volumes for the talent we have in Lancashire.

“The BIBAs has long been known as ‘the one they all want to win’ and the finalists bidding to win trophies in 2015 only serves to raise the bar even higher.

“Harewood Associates is delighted to be involved with the awards and looks forward to welcoming everyone attending our reception before the prize-giving ceremony in September.”
