Businesses across Lancashire have been urged to get their applications in for one of the county’s leading awards before the end of the week.
The deadline for entries to the Be Inspired Business Awards, the BIBAs, closes on Friday, April 6, with 18 prizes up for grabs to companies and individuals.
Alexandra Wood, of law firm BLM which is sponsoring the awards’ unique judging sessions, said the second round of interviews which saw BIBAs judges visit their category finalists provided a unique opportunity to applicants.
BLM is an insurance risk and commercial law firm with both a domestic and international focus which works with a growing number of clients in Lancashire.
Alexandra Wood, Senior Associate at BLM, said: “Once you have narrowed the field down to the category finalists, you need to go a step further than a face-to-face interview to really understand each business and pick your winner.
“The ‘BIBAs On Tour’ judging provides the panels that opportunity to get under the skin of what makes a firm tick and meet the people behind it, which makes a BIBA such a prestigious award.
“BLM is delighted to be sponsoring the ‘BIBAs On Tour’ judging round and we cannot wait to see the panels hitting the road to select their winners.”
The application deadline closes on Friday when all entries will be eligibility checked to ensure they meet all the entry criteria of the BIBAs before they are bench-marked against a criteria created by our research from the world’s leading business awards.
Those applicants selected will progress to a round of face-to-face interviews which take place between May 14 and May 24 at the North & Western Lancashire Chamber of Commerce Fylde Coast offices in Blackpool.
Following this, the finalists will be unveiled and the ‘BIBAs On Tour’ gets started on June 18 and runs until July 11, with the winners unveiled at a ceremony in September.
In 2017, the winners of the Business of the Year category, Burnley-based refrigerated vehicle specialist, CoolKit, also collected the Manufacturer of the Year award, while Preston-based Sunshine Events also winning two categories, Employer of the Year and Excellence in Corporate Social Responsibility.
Fox Brothers, which is headquartered in Poulton-le-Fylde, was the winner of the Construction Business of the Year, with Blackburn non-profit making body, Community and Business Partners, winning the Third Sector of the Year category.
