In the build-up to the ceremony of the BIBAs 2016, we look back at some of the businesses and individuals which have stepped up to pick up the awards’ iconic trophy down the year.
Here we look back to 2012, when David Andrews, co-founder of Andrews Bowen was named Entrepreneur of the Year.
“An achiever,” that is how the BIBAs 2012 Entrepreneur of the Year, David Andrews, was described as he stepped onto the stage in Preston’s Avenham Park.
It was the end of a whirlwind few months for the managing director of Andrews Bowen, the Singleton-based equestrian surfaces specialist which had installed the competition surfaces at that summer’s Olympic Games in London.
This success and the company’s outstanding achievements in the export market were among some of the reasons that David was among the nominees for the award – but he immediately hailed the involvement of his business partner, Simon Bowen.
“I have a great business partner in Simon, so a lot of this is down to him,” said David raising his iconic BIBAs trophy towards his fellow director sat in the audience.
“There’s been a lot of hard work put in by a lot of people to get us where we are today and we’re confident we have a bright future ahead of us.”
