Every week we will bring you the thoughts of a former winner of one of our awards about why they applied, what the application process did for them and what being a BIBAs winner means to them. This week we hear from Michael Ashworth, Managing Director of NuBlue, winner of the BIBAs 2011 Creative Business of the Year.
“We applied for the BIBAs as we really wanted to showcase to the local business community the excellent ecommerce development work and web hosting services our team were delivering from our base in Lancaster.
“The BIBAs have a huge profile in the local area. We knew that being recognised by them would have great benefits for Nublue as a brand and also provide acknowledgement for our team – so entering was a bit of a no brainer.
“Hearing our name read out on BIBAs night was a nice mix of surprise, excitement and pride. “Lancashire has some great businesses that work really hard to produce great work and create jobs, so for Nublue to be recognised as a stand out company just feels great.
“It’s like a great big pat on the back from people that know how difficult it is to start and grow a business.
“We display our BIBAs award with pride in our reception area and we always get comments from people who recognise the brand and how difficult it is to win one – so it is still working hard for us today.”
