Celebrating the achievements of the creative sector

One of the fasting growing industry sectors  in Lancashire  is being honoured at  the BIBAs 2010.  Ranging from digital media and performing arts to music and arts-related tourism— a growing number of the region’s entrepreneurs are building business opportunities through their creativity.

Viewed as the leading  honour for businesses, in recent years the BIBA’s have recognised a top  line up of businesses from leading blue chip companies to brand new ventures,  with past winners reading  as a Who’s Who of the Best of Lancashire  Businesses.

Sponsors of the Creative Category,  Orbit Storm said:  “The creative industries play an ever-increasing role in the economy. In the North West, the number of new and developing creative businesses is expanding rapidly. Whether it be fashion or jewellery design, photography, designer-makers, pottery or fine art, We are  delighted to be sponsoring this award and wishes all entrants the very best of luck.

“The BIBA’s are designed to recognise the very best of business that achieve fundamental success such as growing turnover, profits and job creation.  These awards are also aimed at rewarding inventive and strategic excellence as well as market place impact and measurable business initiatives”.
Babs Murphy, Chief Executive of the North & Western Lancashire Chamber of Commerce added “The BIBA’s are the  highlight of the business calendar and we are looking forward to the most successful awards programme yet!

The BIBA  for CREATIVE BUSINESS OF THE YEAR  sponsored by Orbit Storm,   has been introduced  to recognise the strength of the creative industries that operate in Lancashire. In this category the judges will be looking to recognise and celebrate the achievement of a cultural and creative business which has demonstrated:
