The BIBA for Performance Through People has been developed to recognise a business dedicated to putting their people first. The winning company will be seen as an exemplar in this field and is able to demonstrate best practice. This Award will be given to the company that demonstrates excellence in its approach to workforce development.
This Award is jointly sponsored by Springfields Fuels Ltd and Westinghouse UK Ltd, who as a major Lancashire employer for over 60 years, are again proud to be sponsoring this category.
People are the foundation of our business and we recognise the need to give them all the necessary skills required for the future.
At Springfields, we take training and development very seriously, working closely with the National Skills Academy for Nuclear. Our award-winning Apprentice Training Schemes, our Graduate Training Programme and ‘Skills Development Centre’ demonstrate our commitment to enhancing the skills of our workforce, to the benefit of our employees, our business and the skills base within Lancashire.
As we prepare for a UK nuclear renaissance, it is clear that a well trained and committed workforce will be vitally important in helping to ensure that Westinghouse and Springfields are playing leading roles.
